Dec 7 Devotion: Making It Count

Making It Count

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 [11] Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: [12] That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Have you ever heard someone say this: “This might be my only shot, so I gotta make it count.”? That can be true of each and everyday we live. We don’t get and do-overs on our days, and the encounters we have inside each of those days. How then can we make those days count for Christ? First we can show grace. God bestows grace upon us each and every day. However, Gods people are too quick to hold grudges and not want to show that same grace when they are done wrong. We also can glorify God each day. It comes easy at times to thank God and just glorify Him while sitting in a church service. What about outside of that? How willing are we to glorify Him in the presence of others? Sometimes the best way to reach others can be a personal testimony through glorifying Him for all He has done in your life! Lastly, a good way to make it count can just be a giving attitude. Being willing to be attentive to others needs throughout the day. Maybe you see someone who could use a coffee. You might have that friend that needs a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on. Just think to how God is always there for us and much of a help we could possibly be to others if we have that desire to make it count. Make today count! Not for a pat on the back, but make it count for our Lord and Savior!!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
