Dec 8 Devotion: All There And All In For Jesus

Ephesians 5:1-2, 8, 10, 14, 16-17 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

[2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

[10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

[14] Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

[16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

[17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

One of the greatest blessings about being saved and living for Jesus, is that every morning when we wake up God’s Grace is new and Jesus is fresh all over again. Every day we have a fresh start, not to take advantage of God’s Grace but to walk in newness of life for the purpose Jesus has for us TODAY! How will I use the resources today that God has given me? To what or whom will I give myself to today?” Friend, the decisions we make today with all that God has blessed us with, these decisions are life and death to us or to someone else. Every choice we purpose in our heart to make will either be a choice of life spiritually, or death spiritually because today is precious and God gives us TODAY as a one-time offering.

In (verse 16) of our text, Paul encourages us to redeem the time we have here on this earth. We know as each day passes by, the world around us is getting more wicked and sinful. There are three things that come to mind, once they are gone, we can never get back. The TIME we have each day to make an impact on others, the WORD God gives us for each day, and OPPORTUNITIES God gives us for eachmoment of every day. Redeeming the time means, seizing each day with a renewed determination of exhausting all of our resources for the things that will count for eternity. This is a steadfast spirit of determination that clings to nothing in the past and counts on nothing in the future that is upon this earth. I came across a quote from a missionary named Jim Elliot, he said, “Wherever you are, be all there.” Jim Elliot was one of five missionaries killed at the age of 28 trying to evangelize and preach the Gospel to the people of Ecuador. Bro. Elliot embraced his call from God to reach others and no matter where he was he was ALL THERE and ALL IN for the work of the Lord! Hallelujah! This type of love and devotion for our Lord is saying down in our soul, YES to God in all things each day from the rising of the sun till the day is done. It is living for Heaven with Heaven always in view.

Today I pray you will pour out the Living God into the lives of those around you. That you will be a refreshing spring for those who are thirsty and weary from all that life has thrown at them. May you be a light in the darkness for the sin sick soul, and may the love of God within you bind up the broken hearts you encounter today. All around us today, people are searching for what can only be found in Jesus Christ. Wherever the Lord leads you today, may others find you ALL THERE and ALL IN for Jesus! Today, may they see Jesus in you and on you because they may not have tomorrow. We only have today, I encourage you to live each moment so when the day is done, you have a heart of no regrets.
