Good Intentions

Matthew 26:33-35

[33] Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. [34] Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. [35] Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

I’ll be praying for you. I’m gonna come see you. I’ll bring that to you. You ever make any of those statements to anyone only to forget? I used to always think that you’d remember if it meant that much to you. What do you think Jesus meant to Peter? Peter walked with him, seen the miracles he worked, and knew in his heart he would be willing to die with Jesus. What happened? Same thing with us:our flesh and the world gets in the way. Many times we start out with great intentions, only to see something happen and we forget, or even remember at an inopportune time.

It’s easy to say we should remember, but plain and simple we just don’t always do that. What about making ourselves some reminders. Whether we write them down or make reminders in our phones. We set reminders for everything else, why not Godly things that are important to us. If you remember Peter had something that happened that reminded him of what Jesus had told him.

Matthew 26:74-75

[74] Then began he to curse and to swear, saying , I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. [75] And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

When we tell people something they are counting on us. Make it a point to follow thru on those things, no matter what you need to do to make it happen.

God bless you today!
