Winter Storm Warning
We see these three words and all too often lose our minds. People will rush and buy enough food to last a whole winter, yet only need it for a few days at most. Jesus is Coming! Do these three words have the same affect? The Bible tells us it’s going to happen.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
The weather is often wrong but we will prepare as if they’ve never missed a forecast. Yet we truly give no thought to the return of Christ, or at least we don’t live as if we do, and The Bible has NEVER been wrong. Are you preparing for Jesus’ return the same way? He is preparing something for us that we can’t even imagine. Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Do we prepare to meet Him with the same exuberance we do for a storm? We should prepare in: 1. Worship We should be at church every opportunity we have. We will give an account for what is being taught and preached in our local church, so we better make sure we are there to worship Him and receive His instruction. We will worship Him in eternity so we should get practiced up!!
2. Word We will all be held accountable for what’s in His book. We need to study it and be prepared for when He comes.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
3. Works Salvation is NOT found in works, but if you are saved it will be your desire to do something for Him!! Our Pastor says it often, “ In 100 years all that will matter is what you’ve done for Him.”
4. Will of God Preach, teach, clean, door greeter; it doesn’t matter what it is you do as long as you are doing His will.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We make it a point to exercise these things and we will be prepared when He returns, and will be much more prepared than for a storm that may never even come. May God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
