Jan 18 Devotion: Very Blessed

Very Blessed

Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

I want…. I need…. I wish I had… How many times in a day do we utter these words? I’m not saying it’s entirely bad. There are times when there may truly be things we need to get. There are things that we see that we’d like to have. Unfortunately, there are times in this world that those things can consume us. Something new that we become fixated on that we desire to have. It could be something very useful to our lives. It could be something that God blesses us to have. That leads me today’s thought. When was last time you thought on all your blessings? It’s not just that we are blessed. We are VERY blessed. That word very is used a couple ways. One in referring to something in high regard, and also to reference something precisely. Do you hold your blessings in high regard? Do you tell others just how good God has been to you? Do you hold them in high enough regard to realize there’s nothing I’ve done to deserve all that God has blessed us with. Even if we have the skill or smarts to have a great job, where do you think those smarts and skills came from? How precise are we when it comes to our blessings? We’ve heard it preached and it was brought up again the other day. What if you only had today what you was thankful for yesterday? The food on our table, clothes on our back, to the air we breathe and everything in between. We have much to be thankful for! Don’t just tell someone today that you are blessed. Let them know that you are VERY blessed!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
