Jan. 24 Devotion: You Could Be The Difference

You Could Be The Difference

Jude 1:22

And of some have compassion, making a difference:

I’ve used this verse before for a devotion, but I wanted to look at it today for a specific reason. This past Monday we know Donald Trump was sworn in again as president of our country. This excited a lot of people because of the difference many believe he can make in our country. It absolutely requires the backing of plenty of people to get laws passed and things enacted but the president does hold tremendous power. Time will tell what difference President Trump will make this time around.

With that being said you hold that same power in someone’s life whether you realize it or not. We may not think about it, and it’s possible you’d prefer it not be true, but someone is watching your life and your walk has a great impact on them. We know that we are all human and we will fail that person and they instead should focus on Jesus. People still have that desire to focus on things they can physically see. They will look at people who claim to be different and watch their lives and how they react to things as well as just how they live their everyday life. Reality is we also have had that person that we watched in our life and have tried to model our walk after. Think of that parent or grandparent in your life. Perhaps it was a church member growing up. Regardless of who it was or is we have that person that we looked up to and they made a tremendous difference in our lives. With all this in mind what kind of difference are you making in that someone’s life who is watching you? How much of your life points them to Jesus? You see many today have thier hope wrapped up in things of this world. They feel as if they have no hope or future. Have you pointed those that watch your walk to the one true God that they can place their hope in? You’re making a difference in someone’s life. The question is what kind of difference are you making?

God bless
