“Whom Say Ye…”
Matthew 16:15-16 [15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Democrats. Republicans. Politics. Religion. Those are just a few things that will bring about an array of opinions. You can bring up these things and most people will always be quick to offer their thoughts.
When it comes to religion you will get various reactions. If you mention the name Jesus it will still get a variety of responses. Some still just just think of a baby in a manger. I’ve come across others that just aren’t sure what to think.
What do you think of when you hear His name? We see here in our text how the disciples responded. All the way to vs 16 and how Simon Peter answered. How would you answer if in this position?
I can’t help but think about how He’s my rock! The one I can lean on. He’s my confidence. I know He’s in control. He’s been so faithful in my life. One I know I can depend on. He’s my peace speaker. When faced with uncertainty He will give the peace that passeth all understanding. When I hear His name I think Lord!!
Is He your Lord today? Not just in words, but is He the Lord of your life today?
