When Doubt Creeps In
Matthew 28:16-17
[16] Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. [17] And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
I don’t understand why this is happening to me.
I don’t see how I’m going to get through this.
I just don’t think anyone can help me get past this.
Have you ever thought or even said any of these things? You’ve reached a point in your life where you doubt God. You might doubt how big He is or even the plan He has for your life. Think for a moment about all His disciples seen while walking with Jesus. They had seen the sick healed, blind made to see, the maimed restored, demons cast out, and many other miracles that Jesus had performed. Yet here they are, and some still doubted. We mustn’t forget that our flesh isn’t saved, and it is in our nature to doubt. Trusting by faith has never been said to be easy. When we see certain things in front of us it can be hard to trust in the unseen. Those are times when those shades of doubt can come into our lives.
What we shouldn’t do in these times is act as if that doubt doesn’t exist. We are all human and need God to magnify himself to us even greater at points in our lives. Think of the song the little kids sing at times: Gods Still Working On Me. God is always working on us if we’ll allow Him to dwell inside us. Therefore, when that doubt creeps in we should seek Him wholly and ask for help in those areas.
Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Don’t try to sweep it under the rug today and act as if it doesn’t exist. If there are areas of doubt in your life then ask God to help in those things so you can grow and see the victory over those things that God will provide!
God bless you today!
