Focusing on the cup
Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
We should recognize this verse out of the 23 Psalm. 0ur Pastor said something towards the end of service Sunday morning that really got me to thinking. He made reference to when you are focused on God it won’t matter if your cup is made of tin or china. So I ask, are you too focused on the cup?
Genesis 49:25-26 [25] Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: [26] The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
We are blessed with blessings upon blessings so much that our cups runneth over, yet we aren’t satisfied unless our cups are pure gold. We sing the great hymn Count your Blessings, but do you try it? When was last time, if ever, that you sat down and just started listing all that God has blessed you with, or all He has done in your life. I challenge you today to get your focus off the cup and focus instead on what He has it running over with and watch what a difference it can make in your day! May God bless you today! Bro.
