What Does the Blood Do?

I Peter 1:18-19 – 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

When we look at these verses we see that there is not any way to be redeemed outside of the Blood of Christ. There is not enough silver or gold that could pay the price for our Redemption. The song says—What can wash away my sins, nothing but the Blood of Jesus.

“What Does the Blood Do?”

1. Takes away sin – Matt. 26:28, Rev. 1:5

2. Redeems – Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:12

3. Brings us near – Ephesians 2:13

4. Makes peace – Colossians 1:20

5. Justifies – Romans 5:9

6. Cleanses – Hebrews 9:14, I John 1:7, Rev. 7:14

7. Gives entrance – Hebrews 10:19
