The Importance Of Your Signature

Revelation 20:14-15

[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Have you ever been to a sporting event or something else that gave you an opportunity to get someone’s signature? It’s been a lot of fun to see the joy on my daughter’s faces when we’ve had the chance to attend a professional golf tournament and they’ve been able to get something signed.

How about your signature? Ever buy a car or a house? The number of times you have to sign your name can leave your hand cramping! We are in a time that we sign our name so much that we don’t give it a second thought. We’ve lost sight of how important our signature truly is. While it’s fun to meet famous people, and can be exciting to become a new home owner, there is one place that requires your signature that’s more important than anything else! Is your name written in the book of life? Your signature there means an eternity full of happiness, worshipping the Lord, and an eternity where all your problems will be gone. However, your signature missing means an eternity full of torments in the lake of fire.

I’m not trying to get you to doubt your salvation! Hopefully you can go back to that time when you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and your name was written down in the book of life. However, if you can’t go back to that time I encourage you today to reach out to someone that can take the Bible and show you the importance of having your signature in that book of life!

Your name written in the book of life is worth more than any superstars signature on a piece of memorabilia! Your name written in the book of life is more important than anything in this world!
