Complete Trust
Psalm 31:1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
Something that is very hard to do is to truly put our complete trust in someone. Most all of us have been let down by someone along the way and that can give us trust issues. This can be on many different levels as well. People might hurt you physically, emotionally, etc. Any of these can cause us to be hesitant to trust others again. However, there is one we can place our complete trust in. If we can trust in God for our salvation then we should be able to trust in Him for any and everything! David shows us just how much he trusts in God in verse 5: Psalm 31:5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
David placed his complete dependence upon the Lord. There are a couple other places we find this statement in Scripture. Jesus says it on the cross: Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Stephen says it as he’s being stoned: Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
What about you today? Are you completely dependent upon God? Do you fully trust Him to take care of you in every walk of life or are there certain areas you hold back in because you may think you can handle those better? There’s no greater place to be and better peace to be had than we we just trust Him fully and trust Him in every aspect of our lives. If you trust Him in your salvation you can most certainly then can trust Him in everything else!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
