The Battles Within

Romans 7:18-19 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. [19] For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

We had a fellow in jail this past weekend that had a few questions at the end of the service. The best I could surmise was that he had a lot of inner conflict going on. He had some things that he was struggling with and didn’t know how to handle that doubt that would creep up. Remember that unbelief we can have at times is brought up in Scripture. Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. The devil will do what he can to keep us from serving God with all we can. We must remember the devil wants as many he can get to spend eternity with him in hell. He knows that if we’re saved there’s nothing he can do to change that. Therefore, he wants to do all he can to keep us from pointing others to Christ. He will get you to doubt your salvation, he will try to convince you that God can’t use you. Whatever it takes to keep you battling yourself, to keep you second guessing, and just to keep you silent the devil will do! I believe with all my heart that if God was done with us then He would call us home. If we are still here then He has something He wants us to do. If you’re in Him then He can and will use you. Don’t allow the devil to cause all those inner battles and keep you from fulfilling Gods will for your life. Remember, we don’t do it alone anyway!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
