July 26 Devotion: No Regrets

No Regrets

Job 2:9-10 [9] Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. [10] But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Have you ever done something and immediately regretted it. It could’ve been something you said or even something you ate. Regardless, after it was done you knew you shouldn’t have done it. We know the story of Job. He’s lost everything and here in our text we know his wife tells him to just curse God and die. However, Job knew all the blessings God had bestowed upon him and he wasn’t going to turn his back on him now just because a storm had come into his life. Job had no regrets in serving the Lord. Of all the things I have done in life one thing is for certain, I’ve never regretted anything I’ve done for the Lord. It’s not because of some “reward”. It’s not for a pat on the back. I know what God has done for me in my life and the chance to do anything for Him is a blessing and an honor! Whether you lift up His name in praise today, spend time with Him in prayer, share His Gospel with someone else, or just tell Him how much you love Him! You’ll have no regrets in doing something for the Lord today!!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
