August 9
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
We all have certain dates that we look forward to. You know when your favorite TV shows new seasons start. Bella looks forward to birthdays. Some are looking forward to this very Friday (today) as there is a wedding about to take place. Regardless of what the date you’re looking forward to is, that date comes with an expectation. It could be a celebration, a ceremony, or something else. Often though we forget to enjoy or even pay attention to the moments that we are living in because of our expectations of what’s to come. Hopefully the title today takes on some type of significance for all at Immanuel. That is the date of our next wave of revival. Hopefully, we all look at that with great expectation on what God wants to do. Are you losing focus though on the services before then? It’s not hard to just look around in the last few services and see enthusiasm lost since the last meeting. Why? God is still the same!! It doesn’t take a “planned” meeting or guest preachers to see God show up. Do we treat each service with the same expectation we have for August 9? It should be our desire to show up each service enthused, ready to worship, and see what God has in store for us. Are you showing up with same desire and attitude you had a couple weeks ago? Or are you instead just waiting on a future date?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
