Daily Renewal

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 [16] For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. [17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;[18] While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

How often do we let this world get us down? At times it seems that no matter how good God is, the world manages to get us feeling defeated! Being out in the world can place all kinds of thoughts in our head that can get our focus off of what’s important. Therein lies the importance of some of the things in these verses. All the things in this world are temporal. This world is not where we will spend eternity so we should look to renew ourselves daily in the Lord! Not only are the things of this world temporal, but the afflictions we experience in it are light when compared to the wonderfulness of glory! Those afflictions come overwhelming when we fail to renew that inward man. How are we renewed daily? Instead of focusing on the world around us, focus on that strength He grants us by the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

God has been SO good to us lately that the devil is not happy. He’s going to pull out all the stops to get you depressed, defeated, and discouraged! Just remind him where he will spend eternity, and renew yourself daily in the blessings of God and the fact that you’ll spend eternity praising the Lord in glory!!
