June 14 Devotion: Support or Embrace

Support or Embrace

Luke 8:38-39

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, [39] Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

Think a moment about the upcoming presidential election. Supporting either of the candidates can be very polarizing. You have some that will support their candidate and just keep it to themselves. Then you have some that will completely embrace their candidate and won’t hesitate to let everyone know who they support. We can support a lot of things, but when we embrace them it means more to us. We will go beyond the norm so to speak when it’s something we embrace. Think of your spouse or kids if you’re married. You can tell your spouse you support them in a decision they might make. However, they can tell a difference when you just support it or when you embrace that decision with them. It’s easy to throw support around so to speak, but when we truly embrace something it shows differently.

Do you support your church or embrace it? Do you support your pastor or embrace him? What about Gods will for your life? Do you support what God wants you to do? Do you just do what you’re supposed to? Do you fully embrace what God has for you and you are all in? Realizing the times we are living in if we are going to change lives we must truly embrace what God has for us. Going through the motions isn’t going to cut it.

God bless you today!
