June 16 Devotion: Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Psalm 130:4

But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

Forgiveness means to pardon, deliverance or liberty. The book of Ephesians says that in whom we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus. There is only one place to get forgiveness, and that is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Many people are trying to receive peace and a clear conscience by doing some random act of kindness. As good as that sounds it will not provide a clear conscience. Only God can provide forgiveness. The Bible says if you'll repent he will forgive you. Forgiveness is only available because of the grace of God . For mankind to forgive is one of the hardest things to do, but God is waiting to forgive. Forgiveness is a great gift from God. The fact is that all the problems of the world could be fixed if people would repent and ask God for forgiveness, because God desires for all humanity to have a personal relationship with him.
