June 2 Devotion: He’s Still There

He’s Still There

Psalm 88:1-2 O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: [2] Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;

I believe in the sun even when it is not shining And I believe in love, even when there’s no one there. And I believe in God, even when He is silent.

This quote is part of a poem that was found on a cellar wall of a concentration camp after WWII had ended. I can’t begin to understand the torture these people went through. Going through something like that it would be easy to understand thinking that God wasn’t around. Those are the times that if we are honest it can be hard to believe. While we may have never gone through anything like they did there are times in can be hard to be positive. You might even be like the author of this Psalm and feel like you’ve hit rock bottom. If you go and read the entire Psalm there isn’t much positivity throughout it. However, he starts off here in our text verse knowing who the Lord God of his salvation is. Regardless of the trial you are facing, the burden you may be carrying, etc. never lose sight of the fact that the Lord God is always there. Even in His silence He’s still there for us. Even when you might not get the answer you’re looking for He is still watching over you. No matter how dark the time you may be in right now, just believe! He’s still there!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
