June 22 Devotion:Waiting on God

Waiting on The Lord

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Ever look forward to vacation? Those seem to be the longest work weeks due to the fact we just can’t wait for it to be over so we can head out on vacation. We are like that with a majority of the things in our lives. Want to eat? Then it’s fast food or something in the microwave. We have drive-thru windows for everything. All of these things have infiltrated into our relationship with God. We take something to Him in prayer maybe a few times before we give up or forget about it. At times we may even have what we feel is a huge decision in our life and instead of waiting on His leading we just go ahead and make the decision based on what we think feels right. God has never let anyone down and He isn’t going to start with you. He will fulfill His promises and He will take care of us! A lady in our church this past week made mention that she knew why she loved Him, but just couldn’t understand why He loved her. In echoing that sentiment we must realize that He DOES LOVE US! It’s that love that keeps him from failing us and it’s that lack of understanding that can lead to our impatience. We try to do things that just seem right to us at the time. Problem is we don’t know what tomorrow holds! We just need to relax and be confident that His purposes are right, and that if we will wait on Him, not only will it renew our strength but also give us a peace in all our decisions that we know we are where God wants us!

God bless you today!
