I Miss Choir
Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay .
Most all of us know the story here. Jeremiah has everything against him. Most people today would’ve thrown in the towel long before this verse is even thought of. Why didn’t he quit? He tells us in his own words. “His Word was in mine heart.” How many of us can say the same thing? Is God that important to us? Is He so important that we just could not quit.
I was just blessed with the opportunity to spend a week away on vacation. On our next to last day I asked Bella, my youngest daughter if she was ready to go back home. She said she was because she missed choir. As much as I had enjoyed vacation, I was ready also. I missed going to church, missed preaching at the jail, and missed seeing my friends and fellow saints of God! When God means everything to us we wouldn’t miss services and not think anything about it. God meant that much to Jeremiah because he knew all that God had done for him. It didn’t matter what those around him thought. It shouldn’t what the world around us thinks, or how they act. All that matters is our relationship with God!
What does that relationship mean to you? Do you miss that worship time if you are away? Are you like Samson and don’t even realize or miss Him?
Judges 16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.
God bless you today!
