June 28 Devotion: Armed And Dangerous

Armed and Dangerous

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When you think of armed and dangerous you automatically think of a criminal, or someone on the run. You know that person is in possession of some form of weapon and that they are more than willing to use it. Could the same thing be said about you and God’s Word? How armed are you with the Bible when you go out? Not talking about just carrying your Bible, but what is contained in your heart and mind? How dangerous are you with what you know?

How dangerous are you to the:

  1. Devil-when he is attacking how much Scripture can you quote to him? How quickly can you remind him where he will spend eternity.

  2. Devious- people will use many underhanded tactics to confuse and lead others down a path of destruction. Are we equipped instead encourage others with Scripture?

  3. Deceivers- there are many out there that are misusing and misrepresenting Scripture. Are you able to properly correct them? Can you show them in Scripture where they may be wrong?

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

We come across many people each week. Those people can have a variety of things they are facing. We, as well, can face many things throughout our week. How equipped are we to handle these things? One of the reasons it’s important to study is so that no matter where we go, or what we face, we have Scripture etched in our hearts and minds to be able to use it at a moments notice. Are you armed with His Word each and everyday?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
