Focusing On Our Blessings
Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
It’s my belief that none of us could honestly say that we aren’t showered with blessings! From my home, my job, my church, and on and on. I can say I’m blessed far more than I deserve. With that being said I’d like to think about a few statements we find in Scripture. “Delight thyself also in the Lord.” “I think myself happy.” “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities.” How often do we do any of these things? This world seems to present us with an opportunity each day to get down. It could be something go wrong, someone say the wrong thing, or you might just wake up in a foul mood. On those days it would do us good to instead focus on the blessings that God has given us. Yes, sometimes that may be tough, but a bad day doesn’t take away all we’ve been blessed with. We allow this world to take over our thoughts and before you know it we get to focusing on our problems. We allow ourselves to turn molehills into mountains so to speak. As we start a new week I challenge you to not lose focus on all that God has blessed you with. Don’t get weighed down with your problems, instead allow His blessings to overcome those blessings!
