June 9 Devotion:Not Ashamed of Jesus

NOT ASHAMED OF JESUS!

Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Psalm 31:1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Psalm 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

When I woke up this morning, just the mere thought and mention of the name of Jesus made my heart begin to sing! I bless HIS name as HE has forever changed my life! Now my thoughts are fixed upon Jesus and my gaze is toward Heaven, my eternal Home. For all that Jesus has done for me, how could I ever be ashamed of HIM??? Morning by morning HIS mercies are new and HIS grace is abundant.  When Jesus spoke to me and called me out of my sin and I answered the call of salvation; The Holy Spirit came and filled me, and sealed me, and HE washed me and cleansed me from all unrighteousness with HIS precious blood! Hallelujah, Praise HIS Name! When I am fearful and need a place to hide, I just snuggle up close to Jesus under the shadow of HIS wings. There HE protects me, loves and hides me from those things that might bring me harm. What a Savior! Jesus saved me and gave me life, and blotted out all my sin, failures and transgressions.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is eternal and through it every living soul has HOPE for it endures forever! My Christian friend, how could any of us ever be ashamed of Jesus? It was the Gospel that was preached so that you and I could be powerfully saved. If you are saved, you more than likely got saved through God’s man, preaching God’s Word, IN God’s House (the church), with God’s people present. God help us to never be ashamed of our preacher, our church, God’s Word or our brothers and sisters in Christ. In the scripture above, God’s Word is very clear that we should never under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE be ashamed of the things of God. If we stand before Kings, or co-workers, friends at school, our neighbors…we should with boldness and conviction proudly say…I am ONE OF THEM CHRISTIANS! I am ONE OF HIS!!! I’M WITH JESUS!!!  Hallelujah!

Maybe you are not ashamed of Jesus, but you have been holding back and you are long overdue on giving HIM praise, privately and publicly. It’s my prayer for you today to reach down and grab ahold of that courage and strength that Jesus gave you when HE saved you and proudly proclaim Jesus with your life. Ask the Lord to make you bold with every word you speak from this day forward. My friend, lift Jesus up today that the Lord may use you to bring others out of darkness and into the light. I am not ashamed of my Jesus because HE has redeemed my soul. It is because of Jesus, I have hope and my future is sealed in the very arms of God. Oh Lord, help us that we may NEVER BE ASHAMED OF YOU.
