Comfortably In Control
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Ever been cruising along in life and just get stopped dead in your tracks? You may be doing everything God wants you to do, be right where you need to be, and all of a sudden things begin to go wrong. It may be a few small things, a lot of small things, or something huge that happens. One of those things that, if not careful, could cause you to question God. At the very least it will cause you to start taking a second look at your life to make sure you ARE where you’re supposed to be.
Maybe God has placed you in a situation you can’t control, so that you’ll give Him full control. There are times in our lives that we can begin to get comfortable. Everything is going good: bills are paid, food on the table, everyone is healthy, etc. We are still following God, but we begin to think we have everything under control a little too much. A mindset that can, at times, lead us to not rely on God as much as we did at other points in our lives. Thus God sends us something that is out of our control so that we will give Him the control!
Keep this in mind today: If God didn’t put things in our lives that we can’t control, would we ever give Him the control?
