A Heart Problem
Jeremiah 17:9-10 [9] The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? [10] I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
There have been a lot of great stories of people helping neighbors through this whole pandemic situation. However, for every few good stories there are still some that just blow your mind. People hoarding, fighting over groceries, and even grocery store employees being spit upon by angry customers. This all comes down to one simple thing. It’s a heart problem! We can and should expect better from those that don’t know the Lord. There is no excuse for people to act the way they do during trying times. What about those of us that are saved? How is our heart? We will talk about loving one another, and showing others the love of Christ. However, do our actions match our talk during these times? It’s amazing the people you see who call themselves Christians doing things that fall more inline with the world. A pandemic is not the cause of some of these actions. It begins with where our heart is at on a continual basis. When we have a love for the things of God, and give our life over to those things, it’s then in these difficult times that our hearts shine through. We can all agree that you can tell a difference in someone who goes to work because they have to pay the bills vs. someone who lives their job! If you go to church or read your Bible cause you think you should then your heart isn’t going to be where it should be. We should have a love and desire for the things of God! When we have a heart towards God it shows it difficult times like we are facing today. Others see us as that calming influence in a maddening world. Do you have a heart problem today? Do you have a heart towards God or more towards the things of this world?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
