Confident Like Paul
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 [6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Too often we get ourselves down or depressed due to the fact that we dwell on the negativity that goes on around us or is in our lives. No doubt we all can have bad days, and those days might even turn into weeks or months. Today I’d like to just focus on something that should excite us. Paul was confident in him spending eternity with Christ. If you have been born again you should possess that same confidence! Whenever we leave this earth we shall be present with the Lord. At some point we’ll see our mansion. We will get to walk on the street of gold and see all the splendor that is prepared for us there. Best of all, we’ll get to see and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity!! While the weight of this world may weigh you down we have something far greater to look forward to. We can shout on the fact that as soon as we leave this world we will be in His presence. Even better is the fact that it could even happen today! Are you excited that today could be the day we get to spend eternity with Him? Sure we don’t plan on leaving, but He could call us out of here at any moment. Paul wasn’t looking to “get out”. He did however, have the hope and confidence of spending eternity with the Lord. Think of all He has created for us in heaven where we’ll get to spend eternity! Hallelujah!!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
