Mar 27 Devotion: Our Hope In Scripture

Our Hope In Scripture

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

One of our greatest fears I believe is the fear of the unknown. There seem to be a lot of things people are willing to face and able to conquer when they feel as if they either know the outcome or at least believe they can control the outcome. However, when we don’t know what is going to happen or how something may affect us that’s when fear can set in. That’s why our study of the Scriptures is so important. The more we know about Scripture the bigger affect it can have on our attitude on things we are faced with. Think about the times you’ve gone through a storm. It’s possible that at first you might’ve been fearful. Hopefully though you began to think about how Scripture reveals to us many instances where God delivered people from storms, possibly even greater than what we may be facing. When we have His Word hid in our heart we then can face the future knowing that God has everything in control and He will take care of us! Taking the time to diligently read and study Gods Word will equip us to be able to face anything knowing God is on our side! That in turn is where our hope should be placed. Placing our hope in Him and His Word! Do you increase your faith daily in Him or are you placing more trust in the world?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
