Who’s Got Control?
Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Have you ever been to this point in your life? Jeremiah had seen and been through enough. He was ready to give up and just move on. There was one big problem with this plan. That’s what we see here in verse 9. He had long before this relinquished control of his life to God. Now as he begins to think about giving up he realizes that God is just too big in his life to walk away now. He had given control of his life over to God. His desire was to do what God wanted him to do. Even now when he felt deceived and defeated he still realized how big God was in his life. Who has control over you? We make appointment viewing for our favorite sports or tv shows. We will jump when our boss says so. These and other things that we will revolve our lives around. There’s nothing wrong with watching tv, nor pleasing our boss. However, those things, as well as other things, should not take precedence over God. Take a look at the pandemic that has hit our country. There is nothing wrong with being smart. Wash your hands, don’t go around others if you are sick. These are things that should be practiced everyday, not just during a pandemic. Every year we have thousands die of the flu. We have had multiple viruses in the past that have been just as contagious, as well as killed more people. Yet, we didn’t see near the hysteria that we do now. Too many are willing to relinquish anything to the government in the name of feeling safe. Why? It’s just a lack of faith. When we allow God to have control over our lives we turn to Him for our answers! We don’t depend on the government or things around us. Instead we seek God and what He would have us to do. What controls you today!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
