Mar 30 Devotion: Your Reason For Living

Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

[16] To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen;

Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

Have you ever sat down and really thought…what has God birthed me into this world to do? Christian friend, what is God’s plan, calling or purpose for you in this life? It is our responsibility and duty to know the answer to this question and then with all that is within us, seek to do the Father’s will! We see in our text in (Verse 15 and 16) that Paul knew what the Lord had created him to do; not only did Paul know, but God knew before the foundation of the world. When he was in the womb, the Lord SEPARATED Paul to do a mighty work for HIS name and called him by HIS grace to preach the Gospel to the heathen! Hallelujah!

When we have relinquished ourselves, our desires and all ambitions at Calvary’s cross, surrender and submission to do what God has created us to do is NEVER a burden. When we yield to HIM we are NOT missing out on anything this world could possibly offer…whether it be money, a career, material things or a lifestyle. There is true joy and happiness found ONLY in being what the God of heaven would have us to be, and serving in the place and in the capacity where HE has placed us. It is here in this place that we find fulfillment and purpose and THE REASON to wake up every day with a passion for living!

In God’s vast wisdom and perfect plan, HE looked ahead in time and etched out a span just for you to occupy. God designed you and I for a specific purpose and this purpose is going to bring HIM total joy and satisfaction. When we grasp this truth, when we accept God’s choosing of us, there is a fulfillment that comes that all of life’s disappointments cannot rob us of. We find our purpose, our value, and our very life in this powerful truth; “God chose me and set me aside for Himself”. In (Psalms 18) of our text, David said the Lord delighted in him and delivered and brought him to a large place! If it ever dawns on you how much the Lord Jesus loves you and delights IN YOU, you might just have a shouting fit! HE wants to bring you to a LARGE PLACE, the place of blessing, the place of abundant joy, the place where HE is everything in your life and your plans are lost in HIS will! My friend, it is here that you will never be same. This place is only found in yielding to HIS plan, calling and reason for your very existence.

HE saved us and separated us by placing us apart from everyone and everything else, labeling us “belonging to God.” My Christian friend, where are you looking, or to whom are you looking to find your worth, your purpose, your joy, and reason for living? Do you find your worth in others, in talents, accomplishments, relationships, money, looks or position? Do you compare yourself with others? Know this, you are uniquely God’s and you were made by HIM, for HIM and for HIS divine purpose for your life. You are His delight and HE wants bless you, use you and empower you to do the work HE has set aside specifically for you. It’s my prayer for you today that before the day is done, for the rest of your days, you know YOUR REASON FOR LIVING!
