What’s Your Perception Of God?
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it ? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Ever hear the phrase, “the man upstairs?” We’ve reached a point in society where God is referred to many different ways. These things should bother us and are things that we shouldn’t approve of. If we tend to think they are no big deal, then why? What is your perception of God? He’s not the man upstairs, and not your buddy. He’s is the all knowing, all present God! He’s a Holy, living, merciful, forgiving, longsuffering, God. I could go on and on in describing how wonderful He is. We use those words, and I’m sure we believe those things, but do we live like that is our true perception of God?
Would we do or say some of the things that we do if we truly believed He is all knowing? We spend time in prayer because we believe God can answer those prayers, but then at times we begin to worry about things we can’t control, acting as if God isn’t big enough to handle that situation also. I don’t believe we purposefully bring God down to our level, but we do live our lives that way at times. Our Pastor preached a few weeks ago about how big a God we serve. If you believe He’s that big, then you should live like that all the time. We should live like we believe He knows every step we take (even in secret), and that He is big enough to walk with us through anything in our lives!
God bless you today!
