HEAPING COALS OF FIRE ON THE DEVIL’S HEAD
Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
[22] For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.
Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
[44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
If you are reading the verses above and you are born again by God’s Spirit, you will be able to relate to the war that is taking place with the devil. Since the day the Lord saved me, there has not been a day where I haven’t been angry with the devil. How many times have you thought, my goodness, if I could get ahold of that devil right now I would like to kick his tail, run him over, shoot him, and the list goes on with the ways we would like to take care of the devil? Although we will never be able to physically whip the devil, (that will one day be done by our Lord Hallelujah!) we can defeat him and the ways he uses to war against us. As Christians, we are under attack and the church is under attack every single day. We wrestle every day against powers, the devil and against the rulers of darkness of this world. There is a demonic presence and spiritual wickedness that is prevalent all over America and in our churches. The devil, his devils and the spirit of Anti-Christ are hard at work in the lives of Christians.
The devil is doing his very best to try and stop revival and souls from being saved in churches all over America and across the world. So, how does the devil do this work??? Through sin and demonic presence, the devil tries to sow discord among God’s people and in God’s house. Satan will do all that he can. He pulls out all the stops and tries EVERYTHING to hinder the work of God, REVIVAL, and souls from being saved. If the devil is unable to get God’s children involved in sin, he will start to try and divide God’s people from within and turn them against the pastor or each other. There are so many ways, many fiery darts the devil can shoot, and many devices he uses. He will get someone mad over the silliest of things or get us looking at ONE ANOTHER instead of looking to Jesus. If we are watching each other, we may be missing God’s direction. The Holy Spirit may be leading us or speaking, but we are so busy watching others that we miss God all-together and the Holy Spirit leaves the church service. We can quench the Spirit of God moving in our life and in our church and then there will be NO revival and souls leave God’s house lost in their sin. When the devil is able to get us worrying about one another or looking at one another, he will start to develop the DEMONIC fruits of a wicked spirit. These are NOT the good fruits that Paul tells the church in Galatia about in chapter 5…(love, joy, peace, goodness, faith); demonic fruit from a wicked spirit will bring forth envy, pride, bitterness, anger, and strife just to name a few. My Christian friend, this type of fruit and wicked spirit will divide God’s house and any work that the Lord is doing. We MUST guard ourselves at all times and be vigilant to guard God’s house and not let the enemy get in to divide us.
So, what do we do and how do we guard ourselves and the church against the enemy’s attack? Since we know there is spiritual warfare taking place and we have been warned of God in HIS Word, we should expect to see little signs of this happening. When it becomes clear to us, and we see a demonic spirit bearing its ugly and nasty fruit among us, we MUST seek the Lord in prayer and pray for those that may not even know they are being used to do the devil’s work. Even though they may have upset you or even persecuted you or had spite against you….PRAY FOR THEM!!! My friend, this is hard to do in our flesh, but we are NOT to mind our flesh, BUT DO what the Lord said to do in HIS Word and pray for our enemies! DO NOT let the devil divide and destroy what God is doing and is going to do. If we want to see a great move of God and REVIVAL like we have never known, we must be constantly on watch, guarding our OWNSELVES and God’s house. Now, you and I CANNOT fight the devil or whip the devil or our enemies physically, but when we see things going on that we know is NOT of God’s Spirit, we can go directly to the throne and pray for that person and for God to intervene. My friend, by doing this, we are HEAPING COALS OF FIRE ON THE DEVIL’S HEAD!!! Hallelujah! May the Lord bless you and give you victory over the enemy today!
