Honor
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Today is a day set aside that we celebrate and remember those that have fallen and fought for the freedoms that we enjoy and often take for granted. You will see special parades, 5Ks, and various events to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a day set aside to honor them. What about the day set aside to honor God? You may say you honor God everyday so you don’t need a special day. I’d venture to guess most show respect to our veterans and are appreciative of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy there is still a day set aside to go above and beyond you may say. There is also a day set aside that we are to honor God for all He has done for us and sending His son to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. How much honor do we show God on His day? Do we go to church out of routine? When we are there are we there to worship? Are we fully invested in church or are we counting down the minutes until we get out because we have too much to do afterwards? Do we skip because to us it’s just not a big deal? How much honor is that showing God and how is that keeping His day holy? There are many days set aside that we honor different individuals. We just had Mothers Day and Fathers Day is just around the corner. Today is Memorial Day and later we know we have Labor Day. Each of those days we will celebrate and honor a certain group of individuals. How much honor and respect do you show the Lord on His day? Do you keep His day holy?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
