May 30 Devotion: Seeking

Seeking

Psalm 133:1

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

I’d guess most all of us at some point in our life have played hide and seek. Me personally, I preferred hiding rather than seeking. I wanted to find that best hiding spot. One where you could hide and maybe even peek a little and watch the seeking person just walk around you.

I’m so glad God isn’t like that! He’s not hiding from us anywhere!! If we seek His presence, He will not stay hidden, but instead show up for us! Based on our text verse today, I’ll ask how much do you seek the Lord? If we want God to show up in a big way and truly change our community, we have to dwell together in unity. Part of that is that we should all be seeking Him! Are we truly seeking Him if we aren’t spending time in His Word or in prayer for services? Are we really seeking Him if we aren’t showing up for services? We might claim we are seeking Him from home, but it’s not the same. Most reading this know I like golf. I can go to the driving range and enjoy it, but it’s not the same as actually playing!

If we are going to dwell in unity and want to see God do great and big things, then we must be seeking Him!

God bless!
