May 5 Devotion: How Can We Know the Way?

John 14:1-6- Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 ¶ And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

How Can We Know the Way?

                                           -v. 5

*through…

  1. The Captain!  (Guide) –v. 6

  2. The Chart!  (Map, the Scriptures!)

  3. The Clipper!  (Ship, the Church)

  4. The Course!  (Events of life itself)

  5. Creation!

Heb. 11:3– Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Rom. 1:20– For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Rom. 11:33-36– O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

  1. Concession!   (Acceptance)

Rom. 10:8-13– But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Do you know Jesus? He’s the only means of salvation! Nothing else in life matters if you haven’t trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! If you know Him, are you pointing others to the Way? I pray you do. Keep Looking up!
