Nov. 10 Devotion:Do You Care?

Do you care?

Matthew 5:46-48 [46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? [47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so?

Scripture tells us it is easy to love those that love us back. From our families, to friends, to even Christ. If they show us they care then we will care back. What about the people that don’t show us they care? What about our enemies, or those with different beliefs than us? God loves all those people. He came for ALL. Do we include all? I read something this past week that got me to really evaluate some things and God has allowed me liberty to share today. Do you love your spouse or significant other, or maybe just family? We would say absolutely. What if we tell them we love them and then begin to tell them everything that’s wrong with them. We don’t like way they dress, cook, eat, clean, sleep, or whatever else it may be. That is a relationship that isn’t going to last long. Do we have that same attitude with God? Sure, we say we love Him, but what about all things He does? -He cares about scriptures, do you? Or do you only care about things that don’t step on our toes?

-He cares about the poor. Do you look down on those who may not be as fortunate as you?

-He cares about His Church. Are we respectful when we come to His House or do we treat it as just something we do a couple days a week?

If we love Him then we should also care about and want the same things He does. Do you truly care about the things of God? Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Bro.
