Nov. 13 Devotion: Bragging, Boasting, and Backbiting

Bragging, boasting, or backbiting

Psalm 18:3 I will call upon the Lord , who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Our Pastor will often ask for testimonies in our services. People will stand and just brag about how good God is!! How good He is!! It’s hard to believe how good He is to us in everything. My question today is what do we do out in the world? What do we do in front of friends, family, or coworkers? 1. Backbiting on them God tells us about these things and types people in Bible.

Romans 1 talks about backbiters

2 Corinthians 12 talks about backbiting

How are we showing the love of God by walking about and running people down or spreading gossip?

2. Boasting on you Scripture talks a lot about boasting, especially in James.

James 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

We do nothing without God! He controls everything and anything we accomplish is by His power. How are we honoring God out in the world when we have a look at me attitude?

3. Bragging on Him What if instead of starting too many phrases with look what I’ve done, or can you believe what they did, we instead said: let me tell you what God did. Not only could it have and affect on the world, but be a good reminder to you just how good He is.

So go out this week and get you and everyone else out of the way and just brag on how good He is cause He is MORE THAN WORTHY!!
