Do You Believe In Power Of Preaching?
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
This is a verse that I’ve typically heard preached in reference to the lost when they choose not to believe. That holds true for the first part of that verse. What about the second part though? I wonder how much do those of us that are saved truly believe in the power of preaching though? We claim we do, yet we live the complete opposite of that claim. We can hear faithfulness preached on, and still not be faithful to attendance, prayer, etc. We can hear sin be preached on, yet we will hold grudges, be hard hearted, etc. How often have we heard a “salvation” message preached, no one get saved, and we don’t give it a second thought? The preacher can preach a message about how God can help us in all our troubles, yet we will turn to worldly things before turning to God. How often do we listen to the preaching of The Word of God only to let it go in one ear and out the other?
I’ll just ask do you believe in the power of preaching, or do you just treat as something you have to endure on your visit to church?
God bless you today!
