Oct 12 Devotion: A Christian's Responsibilities

II Cor. 15:58- Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always

abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain

in the Lord.

Here the great apostle exhorts us that in lieu of a blessed hope, we should be committed to the work of Christ. Today, many Christian’s are so consumed with the cares of life that the ignore their responsibilities to the Lord.

*A Christian's Responsibilities

*we have a responsibility to...

1. Christ!

*through...

a) Devotion

b) Discipleship

c) Discernment

2. The Community!

*by...

a) Living for Christ

b) Light shining from within

c) Litigating (disputing their problems, pain, & pitfalls by Peace of

God!)

3. The Church!

*by...

a) Committing to it

*by giving our: Time, Talents, & Tithes

b) Being Congenial (agreeable) not contrary!

c) Cherishing it

*and it's: Shepherd, Stand, Saints, & Scriptures!

Note: Christians can be classified as...

-Blessed!

-Busy in God's service!

-Bland! (complacent)

-Bitter! (angry, aggravated, or against)

-or Backslid!

May we truly make concentrated efforts to live up to our name

(Christian) and fulfil the responsibilities that come with being

saved!
