That’s Messed Up
Deuteronomy 9:13 Furthermore the Lord spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
Think about this for a moment. You have a group of people that have been led through the wilderness. They’ve seen God feed them, clothe them, and take care of their every need. Now the man that God used to lead them has gone up into a mountain. Those same people now have corrupted themselves and made a molten image. We then get to our text verse here where God refers to them as a “stiffnecked people.” You have to wonder: How can a people that have been so blessed be so haughty and stubborn? How can they continue to go against God at many turns even after all that God has brought them through. That just seems messed up. However, now think about our own lives for a moment. I’m sure we all can point to the many answered prayers we’ve had. We have all faced storms that God has brought us through. Yet, how quick are we to sell Him out? How quick are we to use an excuse to not go to church. Ever just get “too busy” to do your devotion for the day? Ever just been in such a hurry that you couldn’t even say a simple prayer before you eat? It’s easy to point the finger somewhere else, but what if we were to examine our own lives. I know God is way above our level and would never do anything like this, but do you ever give Him reason to look at your life and just think: That’s messed up!
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
