How Many Version Of You Are There?

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

We will typically refer to this verse when we are talking about different versions of the Bible. This past week I heard a wonderful preacher talk about the King James not being a version but being the actual Word of God. I’m not going to get into splitting hairs over versions and all of that, but it did get me to thinking about versions of ourselves.

When you look at different perversions of the Bible: they either take away, or try to add to things they like or don’t like. What about us in our lives? Do we have a church version, how about a home version, or maybe a work version?

Do you take things out on Sunday and Wednesday when you go into God’s house for your church version? The rest of the week do you add things to a version of you in order to fit in on the job? What about your family? Would they even tell others of a completely different version than what you show at church and on the job?

Just as I referred to earlier there is only one true Word of God! People can try to change anything they want, and for any reason they want, but there is still only one true Word. The same thing is true of us. We can put on a show for church, we can try to fit in at work, and even act different at home. No matter how many versions we may have there is only one true us, and that’s the one God knows.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Ask yourself today. Am I the same no matter where I go, or does it depend on the company I’m with as to what version of me is showing?
