IN THE MIDST OF REVIVAL

Isaiah 50:10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord , and stay upon his God.

Ephesians 4:23, 30 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, 19 Rejoice evermore.

[17] Pray without ceasing.

[19] Quench not the Spirit.

We are right at the start of a revival at our church. While I was praying and asking the Lord to show me what I (we) needed to do during this revival, as clear as can be the Lord directed meright to these verses in our text. This revival will most certainly have an impact on eternal things for everyone at Immanuel Baptist Church. We will all stand before God and either rejoice or be ashamed at what we did with the time we had together this week. We will all be accountable for every time the Holy Spirit spoke to our hearts to sing, testify, praise the Lord, or even hug a brother or sisters neck to encourage them. For every word and message preached, when the Holy Spirit has spoken clearly to our hearts as to what we needed to do at that very moment, we will be held responsible.

The thought today is very simple, yet very profound regarding the impact it will make in eternity. What can I do every moment of every day and during every service while we are IN THE MIDST OF REVIVAL??? In our text Isaiah poses the question…”Who is among you that feareth the Lord, thatobeyeth the voice of his servant”?  Seems like a very simple task, to fear the Lord and just be obedient when the Holy Spirit speaks to our heart. The question is….will we??? Will we do whatever the Lord is asking us to do in this meeting no matter how foolish it may make us look in our flesh? No matter how inadequate we feel we are to do what HE is asking of us. Then, will we fear God and also fear what will happen as a result if we do NOT what the Lord is bidding us to do? Maybe someone that is lost needs to hear what you have to say, hear the song the Lord has put on your heart, or a word of humble testimony as to how the Lord has blessed you or brought through a trial and given you victory over a sin of your flesh. These are the little things BUT BIG things that can hinder the work of God and us seeing the greatest revival of our lifetime.

My Christian friend, we may never have this type of opportunity again to see a great revival in our nation and in our homes and community. We have TODAY, we have this week to make the most of what God has afforded us as an opportunity to hear from Heaven. This revival is about being renewed in our spirit and our mind as in our text. If we as God’s people will unreservedly do whatever the Holy Spirit is leading us to do, I believe in my heart we will have a meeting like we have only read about in Scripture and years gone by. Will you be determined to not stand in the way or hinder what the Lord wants to do? Will you make a personal commitment to the Lord and the church to be the spark that may start the fires of revival? This is a time of rejoicing, and renewing; a time of fervent prayer without ceasing that the Lord would awaken us to see HIS great power in our midst. What a blessing it would be to see those we have prayed for so long come to the cross to be saved! Think of the impact it would make to see those who have drifted far away from God come back to the Lord and HIS house. It’s my prayer for us, that we would not grieve or quench the Holy Spirit as HE is leading us to walk by faith and trust HIM to take us to places spiritually we have never been. Let us purpose together, to have the Lord bring us to unknown places to see HIS great power and glory, to see the church revived and sinners saved! In Heaven, we will look back on this meeting with regret or run the streets of Glory and shout the victory for things we did or did not do while we were IN THE MIDST OF REVIVAL!
