What Are You Built On?

Matthew 7:24-27

[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

I’m done! I quit! I’m not trying anymore! It’s a,axing how many times we will use or hear these phrases in a course of a week. So often we are quick to give up or give in at the first sign of adversity. Why? Because too often our foundation is flawed.

If a construction company is building a new building you don’t see them dig the footers, and then fill them up with something soft. They could, and everything on the outside may look fine. However, at the first sign of weather that building is coming down.

We are the same way if our lives aren’t centered around God. You may go to church, and even act like a Christian on the outside. What are you on the inside though? Do you rely on your feelings and emotions? Do you turn to friends in difficult times? Or is your foundation built upon God? When He is our foundation we turn to Him in prayer, turn to His Word, and stand on the fact that He’s there in our time of need!

Regardless of the situation you are facing today God can get you through it if your life is built upon Him!!
