Oct 27 Devotion: Strength For The Task
10). Fear thou not; for I am with thee:be not dismayed; for I am thy GOD: I will strengthen thee:yea, I will help thee; yea. I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11). Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing: and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12). Thou shalt seek them, and shall not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13). Fot I the Lord thy GOD will hold the right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not , I will help thee.
ISAIAH 41:10-13 KJV
We all know the account of David stepping into the valley with only a sling, five stones, and (most importantly) the certainty that God was with him. That same assurance is what God offers each of His children when He calls us to something bigger than we feel ready for.
Isaiah 41:10 contains a particularly caring promise: “Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
The Lord spoke these words to a discouraged people facing an uncertain future. And He speaks them still to anyone unsure whether they can defeat what stands before them.
Notice what God doesn’t promise. He doesn’t say the path will be easy, or that we’ll feel confident, or that we’ll never stumble. He promises something better: His presence, His strength, His help, and His steadying hand (See Isaiah 43:2).
Whatever the Lord has placed before you—a difficult conversation, a long season of waiting, a calling that feels too big for you to tackle—you don’t have to manufacture courage from within.
The God who upheld David in the battle upholds you now. His strength is what makes the next step possible.
