Decisions Have Consequences
2 Samuel 12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
A predictive, truthful, and I believe a very sorrowful verse. We only have to look a few verses later to see one of the ways this verse unfolds.
2 Samuel 12:18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
David lost a child! This came about due to a decision David had made to send for Bath-sheba. That decision led to consequences as well as more bad decisions.
So today I ask you: Who do you go to for your decisions? What are your decisions based on?
There is no such thing as an insignificant decision. Each of our decisions then have consequences. We should be very careful making decisions without praying and seeking God. We should be very hesitant on making decisions out of anger.
Making decisions on our own, and out of the will of God can lead to consequences that we never thought of and aren’t ready to handle.
God bless you today!
