Oct 3 Devotion: How Was Paul Tested>

II Corinthians 11:23-25 – “23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;“

Paul went through as much or even more than any other person in the Bible. His test was above measure for a normal life for Christ.

1. The test of being Buffeted – I Corinthians 4:11, II Corinthians 11:23,24

2. The test of being in Danger of Death – II Corinthians 11:23

3. The test of being Defamed– I Corinthians 4:13

4. The test of being in Distress – II Corinthians 6:4

5. The test of being Homeless – I Corinthians 4:11

6. The test of being Humiliated – I Corinthians 4:13

7. The test of being Hungry – I Corinthians 4:11, II Corinthians 11:27

8. The test of Great Perils- II Corinthians 25-27

II Corinthians 4 states that in all the tests Paul says, “In the midst of it all we faint not. II Corinthians 4:1, 16-18
