Oct 30 Devotion: Walking Or Stumbling?

Walking Or Stumbling?

Hosea 14:9 [9] Who is wise, and he shall understand these things ? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

Proverbs 4:18-19 [18] But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. [19] The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

How often have you ever done something or made a decision in your life that some around you might not have agreed with? I’m certain we’ve all had those situations. How often do we then go to others who may agree with us and seek their approval? We almost always can find someone who will support us, and will use that to justify our decision. How often then do we face difficulties after those decisions and just try to say “that’s just life”. Or that “sometimes things just happen.” We fail to understand why we stumble in those circumstances. We use that justification we talked about earlier to say we must’ve been right. We fail to seek Gods guidance and to walk in His ways. Too often, our pride gets in the way and will keep us from following what God would have us to do. We develop plans on what we think is best in our own minds, and then execute them without even praying about them. We make decisions often based on our emotions. We will do something based on the fact it’s just what we’ve always done. Do you follow the ways of God in the things you do and the decisions you make? Do you stumble around trying to justify your own decisions?

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
