Do You Stop Before The Answer?
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. [8] For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. [9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
We are familiar with this portion of scripture and Paul’s “thorn in the flesh.” Some people get all caught up in wondering what it was. It really don’t matter! I truly believe that if God wanted us to know then He would’ve put it in there. We should be excited at vs 9. What grace God gives!! No matter what we are going thru God’s grace is sufficient enough!!
Today I want us to look at vs 8. Paul says he sought The Lord thrice. How often are we willing to pray for something? Paul got an answer we see in vs 9. Do we stop before an answer? Sometimes it’s the easy way out to just say that we are going to turn it over to God. What if God wants to see how committed we are to something? We will get very devoted to praying for something or someone for a certain amount of time. Over time we then have a tendency to no longer go to The Lord for that request. What if we were on the doorstep of God answering that prayer?
I encourage you today friend, that if you’ve not received an answer from God yet, then don’t give up!! Continue seeking God until He answers!
God bless you today!
