Sept 10 Devotion: Lose Not
2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
Life is a constant experience of highs and lows. There are advancements and setbacks. This is why we are instructed to “walk circumspectly” (with great care and diligence) in Ephesians 5:15. We must be always on guard as we face life and “be sober, be vigilant” (1 Peter 5:8). There is opposition that wants to keep us from where we should be and take back what we’ve gained. It is a constant struggle.
What a blessing to know we do not have to face these things alone. The Lord has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and we have the strength we need for we “can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth” us. (Philippians 4:13) Don’t lose what you’ve gained. Trust the Lord, seek his will, and follow his guidance.
