Sept 11 Devotion: Come Quickly?

Come Quickly?

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Our Pastor asked a question in the service Wednesday evening. Would you have come in the same way if you knew Jesus was returning tonight. Of course we would not have. We would’ve been praying and calling all the lost we know and begging them to get saved before it’s too late!! The things is: How do we know He’s not coming tonight? Recently I’ve allowed my mind to wander and think about how great it would be for Jesus to return at this moment. You see all the foolishness going on in our country, and unless God intervenes it doesn’t look like it will get better. Scripture even warns us about these times in 2 Timothy. It would be beyond wonderful to go to sleep tonight and just wake up in Glory!! There is nothing keeping that from happening outside of the Father telling His Son to go get His bride! It could happen at any moment! In the twinkling of an eye!! However, do we want him to come quickly? Yes, there is that longing for heaven. Do we want to see our loved ones and those we are praying for to have another chance to be saved? What about our own lives? Are we where we need to be? Will The Lord be happy with where we are at if He was to return now. I write this today in hopes we will waste no more time in telling those about Christ who need Him. We don’t know when He is coming, and it could be at any moment. Why then are we wasting time and not telling others when we have the opportunity to? Each day we put it off another day is another day lost! Tell someone about Christ today! It could be their last chance to hear about Him!!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
